SYSTEM
The PI ELECTRONIQUE POS system is composed of intelligent POS linked together on a local network. The POS system is stemmed from the PI technology in POS making. Each POS has its own memory for data and program. At any time, each POS can work in a completely stand-alone manner. The POS handles all sales operations, and can also handle accounts transfers, time clocking, etc. The POS are designed in order to allow the highest reliability and availability for the sales registering. Their functioning is independent of the availability of the Back-office software. A specific hardware and software permits a high-speed sales registering with all the necessary controls where money is registered.
The POS are not PC\'s, and they work as automatic machines. Operators cannot interfere in any manner with information inside the POS. Each POS has in memory all the sales database (items, clerks, accounts, etc.) and log files (total sales for each item and electronic journal memory of each transaction). The information is stored in the POS in Flash ROM and RAM, without any hard disk. The access speed to the information of the POS is a hundred times faster than in any standard disk-using system.
The local network between POS facilitates POS information exchanges (one POS can mirror another one) and permits to use just one physical link between groups of POS (and the Back-Office system). (And not one link for each POS). A \" group \" of POS can have up to 250 POS on the same POS LAN (ex: one big restaurant or several restaurants, etc.) There is no \"master\" or \"slave\" POS, each one has the same functions than the others.
A friendly-to-use colour tft and easy one touch menu buttons offers the operators an \"intuitive\" interface, showing at any moment what to do. The training time is drastically reduced, and no manipulation errors can happen.
The POS software is highly configurable, permitting to enable or disable many functioning modes. These can be configured POS by POS, and/or depending of the operator allowances. Each operator is identified by a unique secured electronic chip-key (Dallas key), linked with a table that defines the access levels of the operators.
If desired, local reports can be obtained directly on the POS, independently of the Back-office: sales activity, cash control, transfers, clerks report, etc.
